Overview
Journalism plays a critical role in our democracy. When news is deeply-reported and well-sourced it gives people information they can rely on. When it’s not, we lose an essential tool for making good decisions.
In October 2019, we launched Facebook News, a platform that delivered global and local news from trusted publishers to meet people's interests while upholding high journalism standards.
The 2020 US election night, impacted by COVID-19, was different than that of any other in US history — with many voting by mail, watching results from home, and potentially delayed results.
Facebook News had a key opportunity to offer a clear, informative, and trustworthy immersive election experience, crucial amid possible confusion or debate.
